We specialise in breakbulk and special cargo. Core lanes include breakbulk to the four West Coast South America countries, West Africa and South Africa. We also provide high-quality special-container services (open-top, flat-rack and similar) from Shenzhen to Europe and the Mediterranean.

How is breakbulk ocean freight calculated, and what hidden costs should we watch?

Accepted Answer

Breakbulk freight is generally charged on revenue tons (W/M): the greater of actual cubic metres or metric tons, not simply total volume plus total weight. To avoid surprises, our quotes specify load/discharge terms (such as FLT or FIO) and who pays for loading, discharge and lashing. Also watch port extras and destination agent receiving fees — we provide a transparent cost breakdown.

Breakbulk vessels have no fixed schedule — how do you keep cargo on time?

Accepted Answer

Breakbulk sailings are bound by a laycan window, often around 10 days. After space is locked, our team manages cargo receipt, survey and loading. If cargo data is accurate and the shipment arrives at the port on time, we can get it on board.

Question 4

What happens if we cannot ship after booking?

Accepted Answer

Breakbulk space is scarce. Cancelling after the contract is signed usually incurs dead-freight equal to the full ocean freight. Please confirm cargo readiness, customs status and the shipping plan before booking.

Why are China–WCSA loading ports often in North China?

Accepted Answer

North and Northeast China have a strong manufacturing base that feeds the South America lanes. The Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei and Northeast hinterland supply steel, construction machinery, commercial vehicles, steel structures, auto parts and chemicals. That cargo concentration gives North China ports an edge in space allocation and schedule stability.
